  • Individuals who are grounded in Christ.
    (devout in their faith, well-developed worldview)
  • Individuals with maturity, humility and integrity.
    (emotionally healthy, full of grace, trustworthy)
  • Individuals with aligning gifts and affections.
    (love our kids, love this country, love His people)
  • Individuals who see the need for this initiative.
    (comprehensive, substantive, extensive and intensive).
  • Individuals who are “not ignorant of the wiles of the devil”.
    (aware of spiritual warfare and ready for battle).

What Kind of Recruits Don’t We Want?

  • Individuals who are over-extended.
    (stretched too thin with family, work, church, life)
  • Individuals who get easily offended.
    (thin-skinned, easily irritated, discriminatory, unforgiving)
  • Individuals who are lone rangers.
    (controlling, territorial, self-willed; don’t work well on a team)
  • Individuals who are fundamentally negative.
    (hyper-cynical & ultra-critical; glass half-empty personas)
  • Individuals who are lukewarm spiritually.
    (one foot in, one foot out; riding the fence or living a double-life)

ChrisCorps Recruitment Process

  • Find 3 County Point Persons.
    (“movers & shakers,” know how to get things done)
  • Schedule and Hold ChrisCorps Orientations.
    (a 3-part meeting: 1-the pastors, 2-the parents, 3-the people)
  • Secure 3-6 prospect-referrals from each group.
    (kindred spirits; passionate, responsible, committed)
  • Meet with the prospect-referrals.
    (to gauge interest level and to fully vet each prospect)
  • Begin putting the ChrisCorps together.
    (secure commitments, communicate selections)
Just as the only hope for the human soul is the Person of Christ, so also the only hope for human society is the Body of Christ.
